How It Works

Three Steps. No Account. No Upload.

The whole pipeline happens on your machine — the network never sees your document.

1
Pick your file

Drag a PDF in or browse for it. The file is read straight into browser memory — there is no upload step to wait for.

2
Tune the settings

Reorder pages, choose a compression preset, pick a split mode. Live previews and summaries update as you change anything.

3
Download the result

Your processed file is generated locally and saved with one click. Close the tab and nothing is left behind, anywhere.

Your document never leaves this device

pdfpixel.tech ships its entire processing engine inside the page you already loaded. There is no backend that receives files, no queue, no temporary storage and no analytics on your content. Load a page, process a document, close the tab — that is the full lifecycle.

Good To Know

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to the things people ask before their first upload-free conversion.

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool on pdfpixel.tech runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your documents are opened, processed and saved in your device's memory, so nothing is ever transmitted, stored or logged anywhere.
Is pdfpixel.tech really free?
Yes. There is no signup, no watermark, no page limit and no premium tier. Because the processing happens on your own device, there is no server cost to pass on to you — so the suite stays free.
Will compressing my PDF ruin the quality?
No. Text, vectors and fonts are never touched. Only large photographs are re-encoded, and Compress PDF measures each page before replacing anything — if a photo will not genuinely shrink, the original is kept.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, all of the processing logic and every tool icon is embedded in the page itself. You can keep merging, splitting and compressing with no network connection at all.
How many tools are live right now?
Twenty-one tools are live and fully working today: Merge PDF, Split PDF, Compress PDF, Remove Pages, Extract Pages, Organize PDF, Delete Blank Pages, Duplicate Pages, Insert Pages, Replace Pages, Reverse Pages, Add Watermark, Add Page Numbers, Rotate PDF, Crop PDF, Image to PDF, Add Background to PDF, Add Header Footer, Repair PDF, Metadata Editor and PDF Stats & Analyzer. The blank-page detector decodes each page content stream and counts its drawing operators instead of guessing. The remaining tools of the 68-tool roadmap are being released one at a time, each built to the same client-side standard — check the grid above for the LIVE NOW badge.
Which browsers and devices are supported?
Any modern evergreen browser: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Brave or Arc, on desktop or mobile. No plugin, extension or installation is required — and the layout adapts down to phone screens.

PDF to JPG — Every Page as a Crisp Image, Right in Your Browser

Sometimes a PDF is the wrong shape for the job: a marketplace listing wants images, a listing form accepts JPGs, a slide deck needs a page as a picture. Converting page-by-page in a desktop app is slow, and online converters make you upload the document first.

PdfPixel renders every page on your own device with the same engine browsers use to display PDFs, then encodes real JPGs at the resolution you pick. Nothing leaves the tab — not even a thumbnail.

How to convert a PDF to JPG images

  1. Drop a PDF onto the upload area (or pick one with the button).
  2. Check the live page previews so you know exactly what will be rendered.
  3. Choose a resolution — 150 DPI for screens, 300 DPI for print — and a JPG quality.
  4. Press Convert to JPG, then download the images (a ZIP when there is more than one page).

Why use PdfPixel for this?

No upload, ever

Rendering and encoding happen in your browser's own memory. Contracts, medical pages and ID scans never touch a server.

Real resolution control

72 DPI for quick previews, 150 DPI for web, 300 DPI for print — the render scale changes, so detail is genuinely added, not upscaled.

Honest JPG encoding

Pages are rasterised once at full size and encoded at your chosen quality — no double-compression mush from re-rendering previews.

ZIP or single file

One page downloads directly as a .jpg; multi-page documents arrive as a neatly named ZIP you can unpack anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Will the JPGs look blurry?
Only if you pick a low resolution. At 300 DPI each page is rendered at print size, so text stays sharp even when zoomed.
How many pages can I convert?
As many as your device can hold in memory. Very large documents (hundreds of pages at 300 DPI) are best done in ranges using Extract Pages first.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Yes — scans are already images, so they convert perfectly. (Reading text out of a scan needs OCR, which is a separate roadmap tool.)
What happens to my file afterwards?
Nothing is stored anywhere. Close the tab and every byte of the document and the images is gone.

PDF to Image — PNG, JPG or WebP, Your Choice of Format and DPI

PNG when you need lossless edges for diagrams, JPG when you need small photos, WebP when you need the smallest file that still looks right. Most converters give you one format; this one gives you the choice without re-uploading.

Pick a format and resolution, watch the live previews, and export. Single pages download directly; multi-page exports arrive as a ZIP with sensible page-numbered names.

How to convert a PDF to images

  1. Upload the PDF you want to export.
  2. Choose the output format: PNG (lossless), JPG (small) or WebP (smallest).
  3. Set the resolution — 72, 150 or 300 DPI.
  4. Convert, then download the image or the ZIP of all pages.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Three formats, one tool

PNG for crisp line art and transparency-free accuracy, JPG for photos and forms, WebP for modern web pipelines.

Private by architecture

The PDF is parsed and rendered locally. There is no upload queue, no account, no email-and-wait step.

Page-numbered output

Files come out as page_1.png, page_2.png… so unzipping into a folder keeps the reading order obvious.

Preview before you commit

Thumbnails render as soon as the file loads, so a wrong document is caught before conversion, not after.

Frequently asked questions

PNG or JPG — which should I pick?
PNG for screenshots, diagrams and anything with sharp edges; JPG for photo-heavy pages where small size matters more than perfect edges.
Is WebP safe to use everywhere?
All modern browsers and OS versions read WebP. If you need to open images in very old software, choose PNG or JPG.
Can I convert only some pages?
Use Extract Pages first to make a small PDF of the pages you want, then convert that file here.
Do transparent backgrounds survive?
PDF pages are opaque by definition, so exports have a white background in JPG and a solid background in PNG/WebP.

PDF to Text — Copy or Download the Text Layer of a PDF

Quoting a clause, reusing a paragraph, feeding a document into another tool — copying text out of a PDF by hand is tedious, and select-all in a reader often glues lines together.

This tool reads the PDF's text layer, rebuilds line breaks from the actual vertical positions of the text, and hands you clean plain text with optional page markers.

How to extract text from a PDF

  1. Upload the PDF you want to read as text.
  2. Press Extract text — the result appears in the preview pane.
  3. Choose whether pages should be separated with labelled markers or run continuously.
  4. Copy to clipboard or download the .txt file.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Line breaks that make sense

Text is regrouped by real vertical position on the page, so paragraphs and lines survive instead of collapsing into one wall of words.

Stays on your device

Confidential agreements and statements are parsed locally — there is no server copy, ever.

Instant preview

See the extracted text before you download it, so you know immediately whether the PDF has a usable text layer.

Honest about scans

Image-only PDFs contain no text; the tool tells you so instead of handing you an empty file and a shrug.

Frequently asked questions

My PDF is a scan — why is there no text?
Scanned pages are pictures; there is no text layer to read. OCR (reading text out of images) is on the PdfPixel roadmap.
Will tables come out perfectly?
Column layouts are flattened to reading order. For structured table data, Extract Tables (roadmap) will target that specifically.
What encoding is the .txt file?
UTF-8, so accents and non-Latin scripts survive the download.
Is formatting like bold or headings kept?
Plain text means plain text — styling is dropped, content and order are kept.

Add Date to PDF

Add Date to PDF — A Clean, Searchable Date Stamp on Every Page

Received-contract dates, review deadlines, archive marks, version days — writing a date on a PDF by hand looks unprofessional, and printing-scanning ruins the file.

Pick a date, a format (2026-10-08, 08/10/2026, 10/08/2026 or Oct 8, 2026) and a corner. The stamp is drawn as genuine text into the page, so it stays crisp at any zoom and remains searchable.

How to add a date stamp to a PDF

  1. Upload the PDF you want to stamp.
  2. Pick the date (defaults to today) and the display format.
  3. Choose a position — any corner or the centre of the top/bottom edge — and a size.
  4. Press Add date & download; a new stamped PDF is written instantly.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Vector text, not a picture

The date is drawn as real text into each page: sharp at every zoom, selectable, and findable with Ctrl+F.

Your calendar, your format

ISO, day-first, US, or a long friendly form — match whatever convention the document's readers expect.

Original untouched

A brand-new PDF is written in memory; the file you uploaded is never modified.

Live sample

The preview sheet shows the exact string, size and corner before you commit, so there are no surprises on page 40.

Frequently asked questions

Can I stamp a date other than today?
Yes — the date field accepts any day; today is only the default.
Will the stamp cover my content?
Positions sit in the page margin area (24 pt inset). If a page has art bleeding to the edge, pick the opposite corner.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Yes — the stamp is added on top of the page image without touching it.
Can I add a date to only one page?
Split that page out first with Split PDF, stamp the single-page file, then Merge PDF it back in.

Image Resizer

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF · batch supported

Drag & drop images to resize

Image Resizer — Exact Pixels or a Percentage, Single or Batch

Upload forms ask for max 1200px, marketplaces want 1080x1080, email hates 8 MB photos. Resizing should be a ten-second job, not a desktop-app detour.

Drop images in, pick percentage or exact pixels (with aspect lock), and resize. Batches come back as a ZIP with the new dimensions in every filename.

How to resize an image

  1. Add one or more images (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF).
  2. Choose percentage mode (25-200%) or exact pixels with the aspect ratio locked.
  3. Press Resize images — each image is re-rendered with high-quality smoothing.
  4. Download the single image, or the ZIP for a batch.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Batch without boredom

Add twenty images, set the size once, download one ZIP. No per-file dialog fatigue.

Real resampling

The browser's high-quality image smoothing does the downscale, so edges stay clean instead of jagged.

Aspect lock by default

In pixel mode the ratio stays locked unless you unlock it — no more stretched faces.

Private and instant

Photos never leave the device; a 20-image batch resizes in seconds, not uploads.

Frequently asked questions

Can I upscale images too?
Yes — 150% and 200% are offered. Upscaling adds pixels by interpolation, so it smooths but cannot invent detail that was never captured.
Does resizing reduce quality?
Downscaling discards pixels by design; high-quality smoothing keeps the result looking natural. The output is re-encoded once at high quality.
Which format comes out?
The same family as the input: PNG in gives PNG out, JPG in gives JPG out, WebP in gives WebP out.
Is there a file size or count limit?
Only your device's memory. Batches of dozens of photos are fine; hundreds of huge files are better split into rounds.

Image Compressor — See Before/After Sizes Before You Download

A form rejects anything over 200 KB. Your phone exports 4 MB. Somewhere in between is the smallest file that still looks right — this tool shows you exactly where.

Pick a quality level, optionally force JPG or WebP, and compress. Every image reports its old and new size, and if compression would actually grow a file, the original bytes are kept instead.

How to compress an image

  1. Add the images you want to shrink.
  2. Choose output: Auto (keep each file's type), Force JPG, or Force WebP for the smallest results.
  3. Set the quality dial — Gentle 90 down to Maximum 50.
  4. Compress, check the before and after totals, then download.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Honest savings

The overall before/after total is shown, and files that would grow are passed through untouched instead of being fake-compressed.

WebP when you want smallest

Forcing WebP typically beats JPG at the same visual quality — ideal for websites and listings.

PNG handled sensibly

Lossless PNG cannot be squeezed by a browser encoder, so in Auto mode PNGs are tried as JPG and kept original if that is not smaller.

Nothing uploaded

Family photos and screenshots are processed locally — no server ever sees them.

Frequently asked questions

Which quality should I pick?
80 is the sweet spot for photos. Use 65 for web thumbnails and 90 when the image will be examined closely.
Why did my PNG not shrink?
PNG is lossless; re-encoding cannot shrink it. In Auto mode the tool tries a JPG version and keeps whichever is smaller.
Will compression blur text in screenshots?
Sharp text prefers PNG or high quality. For screenshots, use Gentle (90) or convert to WebP rather than strong JPG.
Can I compress many images at once?
Yes — add them all, compress once, download one ZIP with compressed filenames.

Image Converter — JPG, PNG and WebP, Batch Included

Phone exports, GIF logos that need transparency as PNG, photos that must be JPG for a government form — format friction is everywhere, and online converters want your files first.

Add images in any common format (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP), choose the target, convert. Transparency becomes a clean white background only when the target is JPG; PNG and WebP keep it.

How to convert an image format

  1. Add one or many images in any browser-decodable format.
  2. Choose the target format: JPG, PNG or WebP.
  3. Press Convert images.
  4. Download the result — single file, or a ZIP for batches.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Transparency done right

PNG to JPG gets a white backdrop (no black halos); PNG and WebP outputs keep the alpha channel intact.

Any browser-decodable input

GIF and BMP inputs decode through the browser's own image pipeline, so exotic sources still convert cleanly.

Batch-first

One drop, one click, one ZIP — converting a folder of logos takes seconds.

Zero upload

Conversion is a local canvas operation; nothing is transmitted, logged or stored.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert WebP to JPG?
Yes — WebP input decodes in every modern browser and re-encodes as JPG with a white background where it was transparent.
Do animated GIFs keep animating?
No — the first frame is converted. Animation conversion is a different job and is not pretended here.
Is quality lost when converting PNG to PNG?
The pixels are copied through a canvas once; PNG output stays lossless, so visually nothing changes.
What about EXIF or metadata?
Output images are freshly encoded, so old metadata (including GPS) is dropped — usually a privacy win.

Image Cropper — Drag a Box, Lock a Ratio, Export the Exact Cut

Profile pictures want squares, presentations want 16:9, print wants 2:3. Cropping in a photo app means exports, presets and surprises; cropping here is a box you drag.

The crop box moves and resizes with your pointer, snaps to your chosen aspect ratio, and reports the exact output pixels live. Export as PNG, JPG or WebP.

How to crop an image

  1. Add the image you want to crop.
  2. Drag inside the box to position it; drag the red corners to resize.
  3. Optionally lock an aspect ratio — the box adjusts itself to stay exact.
  4. Press Crop and download; the cut region is exported at full original resolution.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Pixel-accurate

The crop rectangle maps 1:1 to original pixels; the live readout shows the exact output dimensions before you commit.

Aspect presets that behave

1:1, 4:3, 16:9 and 2:3 keep the box honest while you drag — perfect for avatars and banners.

No re-compression surprises

The region is cut from the source image and encoded once at high quality — PNG output is lossless.

Stays on your device

Personal photos are cropped locally; there is no upload step anywhere in the flow.

Frequently asked questions

Can I crop to an exact pixel size?
The readout shows exact pixels while you drag. For a forced size, crop here then finish in Image Resizer with pixel mode.
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No — the selected region is copied from original pixels. Only the output encoding applies, at high quality.
Why is there a dark overlay outside the box?
It previews what will be discarded, so framing mistakes are visible before download.
Can I crop multiple images at once?
Cropping is a per-image decision, so this tool handles one image at a time for accuracy. Batch size changes belong in Image Resizer.

Flip Image — Horizontal Mirror, Vertical Flip or Full 180

Scanned pages come out mirrored, product shots need a mirror variant for layout symmetry, memes demand chaos. Flipping is one transform — as long as the tool does not re-compress your pixels into soup.

Pick a direction, watch every image preview update instantly, and export. Batches download as one ZIP with the flip mode in each filename.

How to flip an image

  1. Add one or more images.
  2. Choose the flip: horizontal mirror, vertical flip, or both (180°).
  3. Check the live previews — each thumbnail shows the flipped result.
  4. Flip and download (single file, or ZIP for batches).

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Pure pixel mirror

The canvas copies pixels through a mirror transform — no resampling, no scaling, no invented detail.

Live batch preview

Every thumbnail re-renders as you switch direction, so a wrong choice is caught before download.

Format respect

Output follows the input family by default (PNG stays PNG), or force PNG/JPG/WebP explicitly.

Local and instant

Mirroring happens on your device in milliseconds; nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Is flipping the same as rotating?
No. Rotation turns the image; flipping mirrors it. Horizontal flip is what a mirror shows, and 180° flip equals rotating half a turn.
Does flipping lose quality?
No — pixels are copied, not re-sampled. Only the single output encoding applies, at high quality.
Can I flip many images at once?
Yes — add a batch, choose one direction, download one ZIP. Filenames carry the flip mode.
Will EXIF orientation confuse the result?
Browsers apply EXIF orientation at decode time, so what you see in the preview is exactly what gets flipped.

Image to Base64 — Data URI, Ready <img> Tag and CSS in One Click

Embedding a small logo or icon directly in HTML or CSS removes a network request — but hand-encoding files means terminal commands and clipboard roulette.

Drop the image, pick a format and scale, encode. You get the raw data URI plus a finished <img> tag and a CSS rule, each with its own copy button.

How to encode an image as Base64

  1. Add the image you want to embed.
  2. Optionally choose a format (WebP shrinks strings a lot) and a scale for large images.
  3. Press Encode to Base64.
  4. Copy the data URI, the HTML tag or the CSS rule — or download everything as a .txt.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Three snippets, zero typing

Data URI, <img> tag and CSS background are generated together — paste and ship.

Original bytes when possible

At 100% scale with the original format, the file's own bytes are encoded — no needless re-encoding.

Size awareness

The character count is shown up front, with a warning when the string is too chunky to embed sensibly.

Private encoding

btoa runs locally; your image never travels to a converter site.

Frequently asked questions

How large should an embedded image be?
Keep data URIs under ~50-100 KB. Beyond that, a cached file usually beats an inlined string.
Why is the string 33% bigger than the file?
Base64 represents 3 bytes as 4 characters — that overhead is inherent to the encoding.
Which format gives the shortest string?
WebP at 50% scale is usually the smallest for photos; PNG suits tiny icons with flat colours.
Does the encoded preview truncate my string?
The text boxes preview the first 50k characters for speed; copy and download always carry the full string.

Add Watermark to Image — Opacity, Rotation and Tiled Proofing

Sending proofs to a client, listing photos publicly, sharing drafts — an unmarked image is an invitation. A tasteful watermark says "mine" without hiding the work.

Type the text, choose opacity and rotation, keep tiled mode on for full-surface protection (or off for a single centred mark), and export. The same settings apply across the whole batch.

How to add a watermark to an image

  1. Add the image(s) to protect.
  2. Type your watermark text — a name, © line or domain works well.
  3. Set opacity, rotation and tiled mode; pick white, charcoal or red.
  4. Add watermark and download — single file or ZIP.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Tiled like the pros

Tiled mode repeats the rotated text across the entire surface — the standard look for proof sheets that resist cropping.

Opacity you control

From a 15% whisper to an 80% statement — proofing and branding need different volumes.

Batch consistent

One setting pass marks fifty images identically, which manual editing never achieves.

Nothing leaves the device

Unpublished work stays unpublished: rendering is local, there is no upload step.

Frequently asked questions

Can a watermark be removed?
Any visible mark can theoretically be edited out with effort. Tiling plus moderate opacity makes removal far more work than re-shooting or licensing.
Does the watermark reduce image quality?
The pixels under the text are blended once at export; elsewhere the image is untouched and encoded at high quality.
Can I use a logo image as watermark?
This tool stamps text. For logo marks, composite them in Add Text to Image's sibling flows or keep text-based branding here.
Which colour works best?
White reads on dark photos, charcoal on bright ones; the red option matches PdfPixel branding for internal proofs.

Add Text to Image — Live Preview, Readability Bar, Full-Res Export

A quote card, a labelled diagram, a price on a product shot — text on images is everywhere, and photo apps bury it under sticker packs.

The preview canvas updates as you type. The readability bar draws a soft dark strip behind the text so white type survives busy backgrounds. Export bakes everything at the image's original resolution.

How to add text to an image

  1. Add the image you want to label.
  2. Type your text — the preview updates on every keystroke.
  3. Choose size, position, colour, and toggle the readability bar.
  4. Press Add text & download; the full-resolution result saves instantly.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

True live preview

What you see on the preview canvas is exactly what exports — position, bar and colour included.

Readability by design

The translucent strip keeps text legible on any background without ugly opaque boxes.

Full-res output

Preview renders small for speed; export redraws everything at the original pixel dimensions.

Private by default

Personal photos with names, dates or prices never leave your device.

Frequently asked questions

What font is used?
The site's Inter family with a system fallback — clean, neutral and licence-free for any use.
Can I place text anywhere with the mouse?
Positions are the five most-used anchors (corners and centres) so results stay aligned; free dragging is deliberately avoided to keep exports tidy.
Does the bar appear in the export?
Yes when enabled — it is part of the rendered image, exactly as previewed.
Is the text editable later?
Exported images are flat pixels. Keep your source image if you may re-edit the caption later.

JPG to PDF — Your Photos Become One Clean PDF

Receipts, whiteboard photos, scanned artwork — individually they are clutter; as one PDF they are a document you can email, print or archive.

Drop the images, arrange the order with arrows, pick a page setup, and create. Each image is embedded directly into the PDF — never re-photographed through a screen.

How to convert images to a PDF

  1. Add one or more images (JPG, PNG, WebP).
  2. Arrange the page order with the up/down arrows.
  3. Choose page size: exact fit, A4 portrait or US Letter — plus a margin if you want breathing room.
  4. Create PDF and download.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Full-quality embedding

JPG and PNG bytes go straight into the PDF container; other formats are losslessly converted first. No screenshot-style degradation.

Order you control

The numbered list with arrows makes page sequence explicit — no surprise reshuffles.

Sensible page geometry

Fit mode gives each image its exact page; A4/Letter centres it with your chosen margin for printing.

Private and instant

Albums and ID scans stay on the device; a 30-photo PDF builds in seconds.

Frequently asked questions

Is JPG to PDF the same as Image to PDF?
Same engine, different door: this page is tuned for photo workflows (fit/A4/Letter pages), while Image to PDF focuses on general graphics.
Will my photos lose quality?
No — the original JPG streams are embedded unchanged. PDF viewers render them at native resolution.
Can I mix portrait and landscape images?
Yes. In fit mode each page matches its own image; on A4/Letter each image is centred and scaled to fit its page.
How many images can one PDF hold?
Hundreds are fine — the limit is your device memory, not the tool.

Text to PDF — Paste Text, Get a Properly Set PDF

Notes, licence texts, reading drafts, log dumps — plain text is universal but unshareable in professional contexts. A PDF makes it a document.

Paste or drop your text; the tool wraps lines at the page width, flows them across pages, and can number each page. What you see in the preview is what gets set.

How to convert text to a PDF

  1. Paste text into the box or drop a .txt / .md file.
  2. Check the word count and preview pane.
  3. Choose page size, font size and whether pages get numbers.
  4. Create PDF and download.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Real typesetting

Lines wrap by measured text width, not character guesses — no words lost off the page edge.

Readable defaults

11 pt with 1.45 line spacing on generous margins: the setting print shops default to for a reason.

Page numbers optional

Long documents want numbers; a one-page letter does not. Your call, one checkbox.

Nothing uploaded

Drafts and private notes are typeset locally — no converter site ever sees them.

Frequently asked questions

Are markdown styles rendered?
No — this is a text typesetter, not a markdown renderer. Headings and emphasis come through as plain lines, exactly as written.
What encoding is expected?
UTF-8. Files saved in exotic legacy codepages may show odd characters.
Can very long lines fit?
Words longer than the page width are the only exception; normal prose always wraps cleanly.
Is the output text selectable?
Yes — real vector text, searchable and copyable, not a page image.

CSV to PDF — Headers, Ruled Grid, Automatic Columns

Exports from shops, banks and labs arrive as CSV — perfect for machines, ugly for humans. A ruled table PDF is what actually gets attached to the report.

Drop the file or paste rows; the parser handles quoted fields and commas inside quotes. Column widths follow content, wide tables flip to landscape, and long tables paginate with the header repeated.

How to convert a CSV to a PDF

  1. Drop a .csv/.tsv file or paste rows (header first).
  2. Check the parsed preview table.
  3. Pick orientation (landscape for many columns), font size, header on/off.
  4. Create PDF and download.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

A real CSV parser

Quoted fields, escaped quotes and tabs are handled properly — "Smith, John" stays one cell.

Tables that fit

Column widths are computed from content and scaled to the page; nothing clips off the edge.

Headers on every page

A 400-row export stays readable because each page repeats the column names.

Your data stays put

Financial and customer exports are parsed locally — no upload, no third-party spreadsheet service.

Frequently asked questions

Does it support semicolon-separated files?
The parser splits on commas and tabs. Semicolon files (some European Excel defaults) should be re-saved as comma CSV first.
How many rows can it handle?
Thousands paginate fine; extremely large exports are best split per quarter or year for readability.
Are numbers right-aligned?
Cells are left-aligned for universal legibility; numeric alignment is on the roadmap for a future table update.
Can I style colours or logos?
The header band uses the PdfPixel accent; custom branding is deliberately out of scope to keep output clean and fast.

Sign PDF — Draw, Place, Download. No Printing, No Scanning.

The print-sign-scan loop exists because old tools made digital signing feel enterprise-only. A signature is a drawing; placing it should take ten seconds.

Draw on the pad (it auto-trims the empty space around your strokes), choose page, corner and width, and sign. The stamp keeps transparency, so it sits on the page like ink — not like a white sticker.

How to sign a PDF

  1. Drop the PDF you need to sign.
  2. Draw your signature on the pad — clear and redraw until you like it.
  3. Choose the page, position and signature width.
  4. Press Sign & download; the signed copy saves instantly.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Ink, not a sticker

The signature is embedded as a transparent PNG stamp — no white box, no background rectangle.

Auto-trimmed pad

Empty pad space around your strokes is cropped automatically, so the signature lands tight and correctly scaled.

Any page, any corner

Signature blocks sit in odd places; page selector plus five positions covers real documents.

Contracts stay confidential

The file never leaves your browser — critical for agreements, offers and HR paperwork.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a legally valid signature?
In most jurisdictions a drawn signature on a PDF is acceptable for everyday contracts; high-assurance cases need qualified e-signature services with certificates. This tool provides the visual signature.
Can I sign multiple pages?
One placement per run — sign, download, then re-run for another page if a document needs initials everywhere.
Does signing flatten the PDF?
No — the signature is added as an image layer; existing text stays selectable.
Can I use a typed signature instead?
The pad captures drawn signatures. For a typed look, write your name on paper, photograph it, and use Add Watermark to Image-style stamping via Image tools.

Blur / Pixelate Area — Redact Anything in Seconds

Before a screenshot goes public, something usually needs hiding: a face, a number plate, an account number. Editors make you learn layers; this tool needs one drag.

Draw a box on the image, choose blur or pixelate, set the strength, apply. Redactions stack — censor five regions in a row — and the result downloads as a lossless PNG.

How to blur or pixelate part of an image

  1. Drop the image (PNG, JPG or WebP).
  2. Drag a box around what needs hiding — or hit Whole image.
  3. Pick Blur or Pixelate and set the strength.
  4. Apply, repeat for other regions, then Done — download.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Real redaction, not a sticker

Pixels are destroyed inside the box — nothing hidden can be recovered by anyone, unlike a shape drawn on top.

Stackable edits

Apply as many regions as you want; each pass bakes into the image before the next.

Two censor styles

Smooth blur for faces, hard mosaic for plates and codes — the two looks readers recognise instantly.

Screenshots stay private

Bank statements and chat captures are processed locally; they never touch a server.

Frequently asked questions

Can the blur be reversed?
No. The original pixels inside the box are permanently replaced before you download — unlike overlay stickers in some apps.
Blur or pixelate — which hides better?
Pixelation with high strength destroys detail more aggressively; blur looks softer. For text, pixelate; for faces, either works.
What format do I get?
A PNG at the original resolution — no compression artefacts added to your edit.
Does it work on very large screenshots?
Yes, processing happens on your device's canvas; only browser memory is the limit.

How to pick colors from an image

  1. Drop or select the image to sample.
  2. Hover to preview; click to pick a color.
  3. Copy HEX / RGB / HSL with one click.
  4. Export the whole palette as a .txt file.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Pixel-exact

Values come straight from image data — no screen calibration, no eyedropper guessing through compression.

All three formats

HEX for CSS, RGB for design tools, HSL for tuning — every pick stores all three.

Palette building

Clicks accumulate into a swatch list you can re-select, copy or export in one file.

Works with private images

Brand boards and unreleased mockups never leave your machine.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pick colors from my screen instead of an upload?
This tool samples uploaded images only — browsers cannot read other apps' pixels for privacy reasons.
Are transparent pixels handled?
Yes — fully transparent areas sample as their underlying RGBA values; the swatch shows the composited color.
What does the export file contain?
One line per pick: HEX | rgb(...) | hsl(...), ready to paste into a design system doc.
How many colors can I pick?
As many as you like — the palette list keeps every click of the session.

  2. Reorder cells with the arrows; remove any photo.
  3. Pick layout, spacing, background and cell size.
  4. Create collage and download the PNG.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

No watermarks, no sign-up

Honest geometry

Square centre-crop cells keep faces and products undistorted — no squashed aspect ratios.

Layouts that scale

Auto mode picks a near-square grid for any count; 2×2, 3×3, row and column cover the classics.

Composed locally

Personal albums are merged on your device in seconds.

Frequently asked questions

What resolution is the output?
Cell size you choose (420–860 px per cell) times the grid, plus spacing — e.g. a 2×2 at 620 px is roughly 1264×1264 px.
Can cells be non-square?
The current composer uses square cells for a uniform poster look; mixed-shape templates are on the roadmap.
Why 12 photos max?
It keeps the grid readable and the composition instant in-browser; for bigger sets, make two collages or a PDF album with JPG to PDF.
Is the background transparent option available?
White, black and soft grey are offered now — transparency can be added if there is demand.

How to make passport photos

  3. Choose size (35×45 / 2×2 / 33×48 / 45×45) and sheet (4×6, A4 or single).
  4. Build, then download the sheet or the single photo.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Correct by construction

Outputs are exact millimetre sizes at 300 DPI — 413×531 px for 35×45 mm — so labs and portals accept the dimensions.

Print-ready sheets

Tiled with 4 mm gaps and optional cut lines on standard 4×6 or A4 paper.

Ratio-snapped framing

The selection locks to the chosen spec, so a US 2×2 never accidentally gets Indian proportions.

Face stays private

Biometric-adjacent photos are processed entirely on your device.

Frequently asked questions

Will this pass official verification?
Dimensions and DPI are exact, but acceptance also depends on photo content — plain background, neutral expression, no glasses or shadows. Verify your country's checklist before submitting.
How should I print the sheet?
Print at 100% scale (never 'fit to page') on 4×6 photo paper; cut along the lines.
Which size for an Indian passport?
35×45 mm — the default. OCI and most visas use the same; US visas need 2×2 in.
Can I use it for LinkedIn or resume photos?
Yes — download the single photo option for a clean headshot crop at high resolution.

Load version A and version B; the tool renders every page of both, highlights changed pixels in red and writes a report PDF: one summary page plus a diff page per document page.

How to compare two PDFs

  1. Select both PDFs — first is A (old), second is B (new).
  2. Choose detail level (DPI) and sensitivity.
  3. Run the comparison and watch per-page percentages appear.
  4. Download the diff report PDF.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Pixel-honest diffs

Pages are rendered and compared pixel by pixel, so moved commas, swapped numbers and re-flowed paragraphs all light up red.

Tunable sensitivity

Low ignores compression noise; high catches subtle shade and hairline changes — you decide what counts as a change.

A shareable report

The output is a real PDF with a summary page and per-page percentages, ready to attach to an email or ticket.

Confidential by design

Drafts, contracts and tenders are compared entirely on your device — no third party ever sees either version.

Frequently asked questions

What if the two PDFs have different page counts?
Extra pages are flagged as fully changed and marked "missing in A" or "missing in B" in the report.
Does it compare text or pixels?
Pixels — which is stronger: it catches visual changes even when the text layer looks similar (moved blocks, restyled numbers, replaced images).
Why do identical scans show small diffs?
Re-scans and re-compression shift pixels slightly. Use Low sensitivity to ignore that noise.
Is page size difference handled?
Yes — mismatched page sizes are aligned to a common canvas and noted in the report line.

Redact PDF — Black Boxes That Actually Destroy the Text

The classic leak: someone draws a black rectangle in a viewer, ships the PDF, and the text underneath is copy-pasted out in seconds. Real redaction has to remove the data.

Draw boxes on any page; on export each page is re-rendered to a high-DPI image with the boxes burned in. The new PDF contains no hidden text layer at all — there is nothing left to recover.

How to redact a PDF

  1. Drop the PDF and wait for the page previews.
  2. Drag black-out boxes over every sensitive region.
  3. Choose raster DPI (150 is the sweet spot).
  4. Redact & rasterise, then download the clean PDF.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Irreversible by construction

Pages become images — the text objects that leaked in "rectangle redactions" simply do not exist in the output.

Multi-page, multi-box

Boxes stack on any page; all of them are burned in during one export pass.

Quality you control

150/200/300 DPI raster options trade file size against sharpness for print.

Court-safe workflow

Case files, HR records and medical notes are sanitised on your own device — no redaction service sees them.

Frequently asked questions

Is this better than drawing rectangles in a PDF viewer?
Yes — viewer rectangles hide text but keep it in the file. Here the text layer is destroyed by rasterisation.
Does the output stay searchable?
No — rasterised pages have no text layer. That is the point of true redaction; keep the original privately if you need search.
What DPI should I pick?
150 for email and screens, 300 if the document will be printed. 200 is a safe middle.
Can metadata still leak information?
The rebuilt PDF drops the original structure, but check title/author fields too — run the Metadata Editor on the result for a full clean.

PDF Forms — Fill Interactive Fields, Then Lock Them Flat

Fillable PDFs usually mean Adobe Reader, sign-in walls or "please enable JavaScript" pain. The form underneath is just data — filling it should be a web page.

The tool lists every AcroForm field with its current value, lets you edit them as a simple form, and flattens the result so your answers bake permanently into the page.

How to fill a PDF form

  2. Review the field list — text, checkbox, dropdown, radio.
  3. Type your answers.
  4. Fill & flatten, then download the finished PDF.

Existing values respected

Pre-filled forms open with their current values, so you only touch what changed.

Private paperwork stays private

Frequently asked questions

Why does my form show no fields?
It is likely an XFA form (older Adobe Designer) or a flat scan. XFA is not supported by browser-side libraries; flat PDFs simply have nothing to fill.
What does flatten mean?
Field widgets are converted into fixed page content — values remain visible but are no longer editable form fields.
Can I keep the form fillable instead?
The current flow flattens on export for tamper-resistance; non-flattened export is a planned toggle.
Do digital signature fields work?
Signature fields are listed but not certifiable here — for a visual signature use the Sign PDF tool on the filled output.

The operator-list scan catches JPEG photos, PNG graphics and inline images alike, on every page.

Size filter

Skip 16-pixel bullet icons or take literally everything — one dropdown.

Private extraction

Catalogues, portfolios and reports never leave your device during the process.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I get fewer images than I see on the pages?
Some PDFs draw graphics as vector paths instead of images — those have no pixel data to extract. Also, repeated use of one image object is extracted once.
What format are the extracted images?
PNG — lossless, so a JPEG originally embedded in the PDF is not compressed a second time.
Can scanned PDFs be used?
Yes — a scan is one big image per page, and extraction is actually the fastest way to get those page scans out.
ZIP or single file?
One image downloads directly as PNG; two or more arrive in a ZIP named image-1.png, image-2.png… in page order.

PDF to Markdown — Structure In, Clean .md Out

PDFs are where documents go to be read; Markdown is where they go to be used — in wikis, repos, note apps and LLM prompts.

The converter reads the document's own typography: bigger lines become headings, bold lines stay bold, bullet symbols become list items, and page breaks become horizontal rules you can switch off.

How to convert a PDF to Markdown

  1. Drop the text-based PDF.
  2. Pick page-break style and heading detection.
  3. Convert and review the live Markdown preview.
  4. Download the .md file.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Typography-aware

Headings are inferred from actual font sizes relative to the body text — not from guessing line positions.

LLM-ready output

Clean .md is the best format to feed documents into AI tools; this gets you there without a copy-paste cleanup session.

Lists and bold preserved

Bullet glyphs convert to '-' items and predominantly bold lines keep their **emphasis**.

Local conversion

Contracts, theses and manuals are parsed on your device — nothing is uploaded to a conversion service.

Frequently asked questions

Does it handle tables?
Not as Markdown tables yet — tabular rows come through as plain lines. Use Extract Tables for proper CSV output.
What about multi-column layouts?
Lines are assembled left-to-right per vertical band, which works for most reports; dense newspaper columns may interleave.
Can scanned PDFs be converted?
Scans have no text layer, so there is nothing to convert — OCR support is on the roadmap.
Are images extracted too?
This tool outputs text structure only. Run Extract Images alongside it for the visuals.

Extract Tables from PDF — Geometry Does the Detection

Reports bury their best numbers in tables — and copy-pasting them into a spreadsheet shreds the columns. Extraction by geometry keeps them intact.

Every page's text is clustered into rows by vertical position and split into cells by horizontal gaps. Runs of rows with aligned columns are recognised as tables and exported as delimiter-clean CSV.

How to extract tables from a PDF

  1. Drop the text-based PDF.
  2. Choose a delimiter — comma, semicolon or tab.
  3. Extract and preview the detected tables.
  4. Download the CSV and open it in any spreadsheet.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

No OCR guesses

Detection uses the PDF's real text coordinates — columns are found where the document actually aligned them.

Multi-table aware

Several tables across several pages export into one CSV with page and table markers.

Proper CSV escaping

Cells containing commas or quotes are escaped correctly, so spreadsheets never split them wrong.

Financial privacy

Invoices, statements and price lists are parsed locally — no cloud extractor sees your numbers.

Frequently asked questions

What if my table has no visible grid lines?
Grid lines are irrelevant — detection follows text positions, so borderless tables work as long as columns are aligned.
Why was a table missed?
Very sparse tables (single-column runs) or wildly inconsistent spacing can fall below the alignment threshold. Scanned pages need OCR first.
Are merged cells handled?
Merged cells export as the wider single cell in their row — column counts can vary slightly between rows.
CSV or Excel?
CSV opens directly in Excel, Numbers and Sheets; use the semicolon option for locales where comma is the decimal separator.

Barcode Generator — Scannable Codes, Zero Sign-Up

Labeling products, sharing a Wi-Fi URL, tagging assets — you need one barcode, not a subscription to a barcode SaaS with watermarked free tiers.

Type your data and the preview renders instantly: QR encodes any text or URL, Code-128 covers all ASCII with automatic digit compression, and EAN-13/UPC-A validate and compute check digits per retail standards.

How to generate a barcode

  1. Pick the symbology: QR, Code-128, EAN-13 or UPC-A.
  2. Type the data — QR takes any text, EAN/UPC take product digits.
  3. Adjust module size, colors and human-readable text.
  4. Download the PNG.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Standards-correct

Code-128 checksums, EAN/UPC check digits and QR quiet zones follow the specifications — scanners just work.

Live preview

Every keystroke re-renders; you see exactly what will print before downloading.

QR without limits

Long URLs pick their QR version automatically at up to H error correction — no account, no monthly code caps.

Print-ready PNGs

Choose 2/4/8 px modules for labels, posters or screen display; colors are yours to set.

Frequently asked questions

Do generated QR codes expire?
Never. The code is a static image of your data — no redirect service, no expiry, no tracking.
Which barcode for retail products?
EAN-13 outside North America, UPC-A inside it. Both validate check digits here before rendering.
Can Code-128 encode any text?
All printable ASCII (letters, digits, symbols, spaces). For non-Latin scripts, use a QR code instead.
What resolution should I print at?
Use the large module size for small prints; barcode scanners need modules of at least ~0.25 mm on paper.

Extract Attachments from PDF — The Files Inside the File

Email-friendly PDFs often travel with cargo: the original Excel sheet, a signed scan, source data. Most viewers bury those attachments two menus deep.

Drop the PDF and the attachment name tree is unpacked: every embedded file appears with its exact original size. One file downloads directly in its native format; several arrive as a ZIP.

How to extract attachments from a PDF

  1. Drop the PDF carrying attachments.
  2. Run the extraction and review the file list.
  3. Download — single file or ZIP of everything.
  4. Open the recovered files in their native apps.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Byte-exact recovery

Attachments come out exactly as embedded — no conversion, no recompression, original filenames kept.

Any file type

Spreadsheets, images, archives, XML — whatever the PDF carries, the extractor hands back.

Bulk-friendly

Multi-attachment documents export as one ZIP, ready to unzip into a folder.

Confidential cargo stays local

Invoices and source data are unpacked on your device — no upload to an unpacking service.

Frequently asked questions

My viewer shows a paperclip but the tool finds nothing?
Some attachments hang off page annotations instead of the document name tree. Most creator apps embed at document level, which this reads; annotation-level attachments are on the roadmap.
Are attachments the same as embedded images?
No — images are page content (use Extract Images); attachments are whole files stored alongside the document.
Do encrypted PDFs work?
If you can open it, unpack it — enter the password via Unlock PDF first if needed.
What about PDF portfolios (packages)?
Portfolio-style collections store files as attachments too, and are generally listed; exotic wrappers may vary.

Add Bookmarks to PDF — Give Long Documents a Spine

A 200-page PDF without bookmarks is a scroll marathon. Readers, reviewers and exam portals all expect a sidebar outline — adding one is pure metadata work.

The tool pre-fills one row per page; rename the rows that matter, delete the rest, and the PDF gets a standards-compliant outline. Page content is never modified.

How to add bookmarks to a PDF

  1. Drop the PDF — one bookmark row appears per page.
  2. Rename rows into chapter titles; set target page numbers.
  3. Delete filler rows, add extra ones if needed.
  4. Build and download the bookmarked PDF.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Standard outlines

Writes real PDF /Outlines entries — Acrobat, Preview, Chrome and mobile readers all show them in the sidebar.

Unicode titles

Hindi, accented or CJK chapter names encode correctly (UTF-16BE), not mojibake.

Zero content risk

Only the outline tree is added; text, images, forms and links stay byte-identical.

Instant for big decks

Auto-filled rows mean a 300-page report needs renaming, not typing 300 entries.

Frequently asked questions

Will existing bookmarks be kept?
No — the new outline replaces any existing one, so you always know exactly what the sidebar contains.
Are nested (multi-level) bookmarks supported?
The current builder writes a flat list, which covers most reports and manuals. Nested levels are planned.
Do bookmarks affect file size?
Barely — an outline adds a few hundred bytes of metadata, no page changes.
Can I bookmark a protected PDF?
Unlock it first with Unlock PDF, then add the outline.

Protect PDF — Bank-Grade AES Encryption, Zero Uploads

Sending a contract or statement by email without a password is sending a postcard. Encryption turns the file into ciphertext that only the password holder can read.

Set a password, choose permissions, encrypt. The heavy lifting — AES-256 key derivation per the PDF 2.0 standard — happens inside your browser tab. The file and password never touch a server.

How to password-protect a PDF

  1. Drop the PDF to protect.
  2. Choose a strong password (and optionally a separate owner password).
  3. Pick permissions: full access, print-but-no-copy, or view only.
  4. Encrypt and download the protected file.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Real AES-256

ISO 32000-2 revision 6 encryption — the same standard Adobe and governments use, not a fake 'password screen'.

Granular permissions

Allow printing while blocking copy/edit, or lock everything to view-only — enforced by compliant readers.

Zero-knowledge by design

Encryption is client-side: no server, no logs, no way for anyone else to see the password or content.

Owner password support

Separate owner credentials let you lift restrictions later without re-sharing the user password.

Frequently asked questions

What if I forget the password?
The file is unrecoverable — that is the point of real encryption. Store the password in a password manager.
Which cipher should I pick?
AES-256 for everything modern. Choose AES-128 only for readers older than roughly 2010.
Are permission flags unbreakable?
They are conventions honest readers enforce; the content encryption itself is the hard protection. Anyone who can open the file can technically re-save it.
Does encryption survive email and cloud storage?
Yes — the protection lives inside the file itself, wherever it travels.

How to unlock a PDF

  1. Drop the protected PDF.
  2. Enter the password (leave empty for permission-only locks).
  3. Unlock and review the clean copy.
  4. Download the unrestricted PDF.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Lossless unlock

Decryption, not re-rendering: text layers, bookmarks, forms and links all survive intact.

Permission locks too

Files that open freely but block printing or copying are cleared without any password.

Password never travels

Decryption happens on your device — sensitive credentials never reach a web server.

Pairs with Protect PDF

Re-encrypt with a new password or stronger cipher right after unlocking.

Frequently asked questions

Can this crack a password I do not know?
No. Strong encryption is not breakable here or anywhere else in a browser — this tool is for files you have the right and the password to open.
Which encryptions are supported?
RC4, AES-128 and AES-256 (rev 5 and 6) — every scheme standard PDFs use.
Why does the unlocked file differ in size?
Re-saving reorganises the file structure slightly; content is identical and fully intact.
Is removing restrictions legal?
On documents you own or are authorised to use, yes. Respect the rights and licences of files that are not yours.

OCR PDF — Give Your Scans a Text Layer, Privately

A scanned contract is just a picture of words — search finds nothing, copy grabs nothing, screen readers see nothing. OCR turns the picture back into text.

PdfPixel runs the Tesseract recognition engine as WebAssembly inside your tab. Pages are rendered at 200 DPI, words are recognised with their exact positions, and an invisible text layer (render mode 3) is embedded over the untouched original artwork.

How to make a scanned PDF searchable

  1. Drop the scanned or image-only PDF.
  2. Start OCR — the local engine loads once (~7 MB), then works offline.
  3. Watch per-page progress with word counts and confidence.
  4. Download the searchable PDF: original look, selectable text.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Truly private OCR

Recognition runs on your CPU/GPU via WASM — sensitive scans (IDs, medical, legal) never leave the device.

Pixel-perfect output

The original page art is kept byte-for-byte; only an invisible text layer is added, so nothing shifts or reflows.

Real confidence data

Every page reports word count and average recognition confidence, so you know what to proof-read.

Works everywhere after

Ctrl+F, copy-paste, accessibility tools and archive systems can all read the new text layer.

Frequently asked questions

Which languages are supported?
The bundled offline model recognises English. Because everything is local, more language models can be added on request — no cloud OCR is ever used.
How accurate is browser OCR?
On clean scans it routinely hits 95%+ — the same Tesseract LSTM engine used by server tools, compiled to WebAssembly.
Why does the first run take longer?
The engine and language model (~7 MB) download once and are cached; later runs start immediately.
Does it change how the PDF looks?
No. The text layer is invisible (PDF render mode 3) — visuals stay exactly as scanned.

PDF to PDF/A — Archive-Ready Files, Zero Uploads

Courts, universities and records offices reject plain PDFs for long-term retention. PDF/A is the ISO standard that guarantees a document renders identically in 2055.

The converter embeds fonts, strips future-breaking features, writes the required XMP identification and outputs a compliant file — processed locally in your browser.

How to convert a PDF to PDF/A

  1. Drop the PDF to archive.
  2. Pick a conformance level (PDF/A-2b is the safe default).
  3. Convert and review the result summary.
  4. Download your archival PDF/A.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

All five levels

PDF/A-1b for legacy systems, 2b/2u for modern archives, 3b/3u when embedded files must travel with the document.

b or u, your call

“b” guarantees visual reproducibility; “u” additionally guarantees a Unicode text layer for search and accessibility.

Standards-true output

Proper XMP pdfaid identification and font embedding — the things validators actually check.

Confidential by design

Legal and financial records are converted on your device; nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Which level should I choose?
PDF/A-2b covers nearly every submission requirement. Choose 3b/3u only when the archive must keep attachments inside the file, and 1b only if the receiving system demands it.
Will my document look different?
Visuals are preserved; features that break long-term rendering (JavaScript, multimedia, some transparencies) are normalised or removed per the standard.
Is the output guaranteed to pass validation?
The converter applies the core PDF/A requirements (fonts, XMP, forbidden features). Exotic source documents — heavy transparency, layer-dependent content — deserve a validator check for mission-critical submissions.
Does the file get bigger?
Slightly, because fonts that were only referenced are now embedded — the price of 30-year independence.

Extract Fonts from PDF — Recover the Actual Font Files

Designers ask “what font is this?” every day. When the PDF embeds it, the answer is literally inside the file — you can pull the font program out and inspect it.

The scanner walks every page's font dictionary, decompresses FlateDecode streams, detects the real format from magic bytes, cleans subset tags (ABCDEF+) from names, and hands back installable font files.

How to extract fonts from a PDF

  1. Drop the PDF to scan.
  2. Run the extraction — every font is listed, embedded or not.
  3. Download: single fonts arrive directly, multiple as a ZIP.
  4. Inspect the files in any font manager.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

All three formats

TrueType, OpenType/CFF and Type 1 (PFB) programs are recognised by their binary signatures, not guesses from filenames.

Subset tags cleaned

Names like QZXRTB+Merriweather-Bold are normalised to Merriweather-Bold.ttf automatically.

Honest inventory

Fonts that are only referenced (standard 14, system fonts) are listed as non-embedded, so you know exactly what the file carries.

Private scanning

Font dictionaries are parsed locally — brand and client documents never leave your machine.

Frequently asked questions

Are extracted fonts full versions?
Most PDFs embed subset fonts — only the glyphs the document uses. They install and preview fine, but character coverage is partial by design.
Can I use extracted fonts in my projects?
Only if you hold a licence for them. Extraction is for identification, recovery of your own files, and archival — respect font EULAs.
Why does my PDF show no downloadable fonts?
It uses the standard 14 (Helvetica, Times…) or non-embedded system fonts. The list still tells you exactly which ones.
What is a .cff or .pfb file?
CFF is the OpenType PostScript outline format; PFB is classic Type 1. Both open in font tools like FontForge for inspection.

H1–H6 hierarchy, bullets and numbering, bold/italic/code fonts, link colours, rules and blockquote indents all map to PDF type.

Privacy-safe rendering

Your markup is parsed and laid out in the browser — no preview farm ever sees unpublished code or content.

data-URI images embed

Base64 PNG/JPEG images render into the PDF; external URLs are skipped (browser security) and counted in the summary.

Frequently asked questions

Does it run my JavaScript or load my CSS?
No — scripts and stylesheets are ignored for safety and determinism. Structure and content convert; presentational CSS does not.
What about external images?
Browsers block cross-origin fetches from a converter page, so remote images are skipped and reported. Inline them as data-URIs to include them.
Which tags are supported?
h1–h6, p, ul/ol/li, b/strong, i/em, code/pre, blockquote, hr, table rows, a (coloured text), img (data-URI), br and generic containers like div/section.
Can I make invoices or reports from templates?

Existing page text cannot be rewritten in-browser — instead, cover it with a box or highlight and place new text on top, which is how most annotation editors work.
What image formats can I stamp?
PNG and JPEG. They are embedded into the PDF at their native quality.
Will my additions print correctly?

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Your files never leave your device

Most merge tools upload both documents to a server and send back a result. PdfPixel uses your browser's own memory and CPU, so nothing is transmitted or stored anywhere.

Order stays exactly as you set it

The drag-and-drop list is the actual merge order — no guessing which file will land on top. Rename any card if you lose track of which is which.

Quality is untouched

Pages are copied as-is into the new document. No re-rendering, no re-compressing, no blurry text. Fonts, vectors and images stay byte-identical.

No limits, no watermark

Ten files or two — no page cap, no signup wall, no branded stamp across your pages. Free while you use it, free every time after.

Frequently asked questions

Can I merge PDFs that have different page sizes?
Yes. Each page keeps its own dimensions, so an A4 contract and a Letter-size invoice can sit in the same document without being squashed or resized.
Will my bookmarks and links survive the merge?
Internal links and annotations travel with their pages. If two files use the same bookmark names, viewers will simply list both — nothing breaks.
How many PDFs can I merge at once?
There is no fixed limit. The practical ceiling is your device's memory — laptops handle dozens of files comfortably; on a phone, merge in batches of ten to twenty.
Is there a file-size limit?
No artificial limit. Very large files (hundreds of megabytes) may take a few extra seconds to assemble since your device does the work. Nothing is uploaded, so slow connections never slow the merge down.

A 200-page report where you need pages 40 to 55. A scanned bundle where each chapter should be its own file. Splitting a PDF is a daily office chore, and PdfPixel turns it into a two-click job — with the whole operation happening on your own machine.

Choose to break the document into single pages, or name the exact ranges you want. Each range becomes its own clean PDF, ready to send or file away.

How to split a PDF

  1. Add the PDF you want to split.
  2. Pick a mode: split every page into its own file, or type custom ranges like 1-5, 8, 12-20.
  3. Preview how many output files you will get before committing.
  4. Press Split PDF and download each part, or grab them one by one.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Ranges, not guesswork

Type the pages exactly as you think of them — 3-7, 11, 15-22 — and get one file per group. No page-flipping, no manual extraction.

Confidential documents stay confidential

Employee records, medical reports and tax filings are exactly the files people need to split — and exactly the files that should never be uploaded. Here they aren't.

Works on locked-down machines

Because nothing is transmitted, splitting works even on office networks that block file-upload sites. Your firewall will never know.

Every page, perfect quality

Split copies pages as they are — text stays selectable, scans stay sharp, and each new file opens as a normal PDF everywhere.

Frequently asked questions

How do I split only certain pages?
Switch to range mode and type them the way you'd say them out loud: 2-6, 10, 14-18. Each comma-separated group becomes one output file, in the order you typed.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
If the file opens in your browser with the password you provide, splitting works normally. If it's restricted against modification, remove the restriction first with Unlock PDF.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are moved, not re-rendered. A 300 dpi scan stays 300 dpi, and embedded fonts are carried over untouched.
What happens with very large PDFs?
Your device does the work, so a 500-page file may take a few seconds. Keep the tab open while it processes — there's no upload progress bar because there's no upload.

Compress PDF — Smaller Files, Same Readable Text

Email gateways hate big attachments. Portals cap uploads at 5 or 10 MB. Compressing your PDF is usually the fix — but most compressors wreck the document, turning crisp text into blurry pixels.

PdfPixel compresses what can safely be compressed: oversized photographs inside the document. Text, vector diagrams and fonts are left alone, so a compressed contract still looks like a contract.

How to compress a PDF

  1. Add the PDF that needs to be smaller.
  2. See the original size and estimated savings before you commit.
  3. Choose a compression level — from gentle to aggressive.
  4. Compress and download the lighter file.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Text never gets blurry

Compression targets embedded photographs only. Lettering and line art stay as sharp vector data, which is why output is smaller without looking degraded.

You see the savings first

The tool reports how much smaller the file will be, so you can trade size against quality deliberately instead of hoping.

Levels, not guesswork

Pick a gentle pass for print-ready documents or an aggressive one to squeeze under an email limit. Re-run with a different level instantly.

No upload for sensitive files

Tax documents and contracts are exactly the files people need to shrink. They're processed on your device and never transmitted.

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends on what's inside. Scanned documents full of photos often shrink by 60-90%. Text-heavy PDFs are already small and shrink modestly — sometimes just a few percent, because there's little waste to remove.
Will the text become blurry?
No. Text and vectors aren't touched. Only large images are re-encoded, which is where nearly all the weight in a PDF lives anyway.
Can I compress a scanned PDF?
Yes — scanned PDFs benefit the most, since every page is essentially a photograph. Choose a gentler level if the scan needs to stay legible at high zoom.
Is there a file-size limit?
No fixed limit; very large files take longer because your device does the encoding. Nothing is uploaded, so there's no server-side timeout either.

Remove Pages from a PDF — Free Online Tool

Old cover sheets, duplicated annexes, that one page the client asked you to drop — removing pages is the most common PDF edit there is. PdfPixel shows you every page as a thumbnail so you tick exactly what goes, then hands back a clean document.

Nothing is guessed and nothing is uploaded. You see what you're deleting, select it visually, and confirm — the rest of the document stays in perfect order.

How to remove pages from a PDF

  1. Open the PDF you want to clean up.
  2. Click the pages you want to delete — they highlight so you can double-check.
  3. Use Select All or range shortcuts if you're removing a long run of pages.
  4. Press Remove Pages and download the trimmed document.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Visual selection, no page numbers

You don't count pages in your head. Thumbnails show the actual content, so the page with the wrong logo is obvious at a glance.

Perfect for sensitive cleanup

Removing a page that shouldn't be shared is exactly when files must stay private. Nothing leaves your device at any point.

Page numbering stays put

Only the pages you pick disappear. Everything else keeps its size, orientation and content — no reflow, no surprises.

Free, unlimited, no watermark

Remove one page or ninety. There's no limit to how often you can use it and nothing gets stamped on your output.

Frequently asked questions

Can I remove several pages at once?
Yes — click each page thumbnail to toggle it. Selected pages are removed in one pass, so you don't have to repeat the operation.
Can I undo a selection before removing?
Click any highlighted page again to deselect it. Nothing is written to the file until you press the remove button.
Will the remaining pages be renumbered?
The PDF's internal page order simply skips the removed pages. Any page numbers printed on the pages themselves are part of the artwork and stay as they are.
Is there a limit on file size?
No fixed limit — the work happens on your device. Very large files take a little longer to render thumbnails, but nothing is uploaded and nothing expires.

Extract Pages from a PDF — Free & Private

Sometimes you don't want to destroy anything — you just want a copy of pages 12 and 13 to send to someone. Extracting keeps the original untouched and gives you a fresh, smaller PDF containing only what you selected.

It is the polite version of splitting: the source document survives, the excerpt travels, and both stay on your device while it happens.

How to extract pages from a PDF

  1. Load the PDF you want to take pages from.
  2. Click the thumbnails of the pages you need — one, several, or a whole run.
  3. Check the running count of selected pages.
  4. Press Extract Pages and download the new document.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Original file stays intact

Extraction writes a new PDF; the source is untouched in your downloads folder. Perfect when you need an excerpt today and the full document tomorrow.

Ideal for sharing a slice

Send a client the two pages that matter instead of a 90-page attachment. Smaller files get opened, read and replied to.

Selection you can see

Thumbnails mean you never extract the wrong page because of a printing offset or a numbered cover page.

No upload, no trace

Pages from contracts and statements are often the most sensitive parts of a document. They never leave your browser.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between extract and split?
Split divides a document into multiple files. Extract produces one new file from the pages you choose and leaves the original alone. Use extract when you want a single excerpt.
Can I extract non-consecutive pages?
Yes. Pick pages 3, 9 and 14 in any order — they are placed into the new document in the order they appear in the source, which keeps the reading flow sensible.
Will the extracted pages keep full quality?
Completely. Pages are copied without re-rendering, so resolution, fonts and colours are identical to the source.
Can I extract from a scanned PDF?
Yes — scanned pages are just images inside a PDF, and they copy across perfectly. The extracted file is simply smaller because it contains fewer pages.

Organize PDF Pages — Reorder, Rotate & Delete Visually

Scanned a stack of paper in the wrong order? Rotated one sheet? Got a duplicate page in the middle? Organize PDF is the single screen where all of that gets fixed at once, by dragging pages around until the document looks the way it should.

Every page appears as a draggable tile. Move them, rotate them, drop the ones you don't need, then export the whole thing as one tidy PDF.

How to reorganise PDF pages

  1. Load the PDF into the visual organizer.
  2. Drag page tiles to rearrange the order — the grid updates live.
  3. Rotate individual pages with the rotate control, or delete unwanted tiles.
  4. Press Save and download the reorganised document.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

One workspace, every fix

Reorder, rotate and delete in a single session instead of running three separate tools and three separate downloads.

Built for scanner chaos

Duplex scans with upside-down backs, page 7 after page 12, a blank at the end — the visual grid makes all of it obvious and fixable in seconds.

See before you save

The arrangement on screen is exactly what the exported PDF will contain. No blind page-number typing.

Private by architecture

Scanned documents often contain IDs and signatures. Nothing is uploaded — the sorting happens in your browser's memory.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rotate only some pages?
Yes. Each tile has its own rotate control, so a single landscape insert in a portrait document can be fixed without touching the other 40 pages.
Does reordering change page numbers inside the PDF?
It changes the order the pages appear in. Numbers printed as part of the page artwork travel with the page — you can renumber them afterwards with Add Page Numbers.
Can I undo a drag I got wrong?
Just drag the page back. The grid is a live workspace — nothing is written to the output until you press save.
Which file sizes work best?
Any size works. Documents under about 100 pages give the smoothest dragging experience because thumbnails render faster.

Delete Blank Pages from a PDF — Automatic Cleanup

Duplex scans love producing blank backs. So do exports from accounting systems and print-to-PDF drivers. Deleting them by hand means scrolling page by page looking for nothing — a tedious job this tool does automatically.

The scanner looks at each page's actual content, not just its size, so pages with a faint header or a page number are kept while truly empty ones disappear.

How to remove blank pages

  1. Add the PDF you suspect has blank pages.
  2. Run the scan — pages are analysed for real content, including faint marks.
  3. Review the detected blank pages before anything is removed.
  4. Confirm, then download the cleaned document.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Analyses content, not guesses

A page with a single page number or a stamp is not blank — and tools that only check file size get that wrong. PdfPixel looks at what's actually drawn on the page.

Review before delete

You see which pages were flagged as empty before they're removed, so a deliberately blank separator page can be saved.

Perfect for print-ready files

Trim a duplex scan or a booklet export down to the pages that exist, so readers never hit an empty screen mid-document.

Free and private

Scanned paperwork is the most personal file type there is. It's processed locally and never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a blank page?
A page with no visible text, images, vector art or annotations. Faint scan noise typically means the page had real content, so it's kept rather than removed.
Can I keep blank pages on purpose?
Yes — the detected pages are shown before removal. Deselect any you want to keep, such as a deliberately blank cover or divider.
Will it work on a scanned document?
Faint marks and scanner noise mean fewer pages are flagged on scans than on digital exports. That's intentional — it prevents deleting a page that actually contains something.
Does it fix page numbering after removal?
Printed numbers are part of each page's artwork, so they stay as-is. If you need a clean sequence, follow up with Add Page Numbers.

Duplicate PDF Pages — Clone & Repeat Instantly

Need ten copies of a sign-up sheet? Three copies of page two for a handout pack? A duplicated page printed back-to-back needs two pages in the file — and that's exactly what this tool creates.

Pick the pages, choose how many times each should repeat, and the cloned pages are inserted directly after the originals so the document still reads in order.

How to duplicate PDF pages

  1. Load the PDF containing the pages you want to repeat.
  2. Select the page or pages to duplicate.
  3. Set how many extra copies you need.
  4. Duplicate and download the expanded document.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Made for printing

Forms, worksheets and sign-off sheets are meant to be printed in bulk. Duplicating the page is faster and cleaner than printing the same page repeatedly.

Keeps document flow

Copies appear right after the page they clone, so a duplicate never breaks the reading order of the rest of the file.

No copy-paste gymnastics

The alternative is extracting a page, merging it into a new file, and repeating the loop. This does the whole job in one pass.

Free for any volume

Duplicate one page five times or five pages twice — no caps, no watermark, no account.

Frequently asked questions

Where do duplicated pages appear?
Directly after the original page. If you duplicate page 4, the copy becomes the new page 5 — the rest of the document shifts down and keeps its order.
Can I duplicate pages into the end of the file?
The copies stay next to their originals for a predictable result. If you need a different placement, duplicate first and then reorder with Organize PDF.
Does duplicating increase file size?
Slightly — each duplicate is a real page. For pages with heavy images, consider Compress PDF afterwards to keep the file lean.
Can I duplicate the same page many times at once?
Yes. Set the repeat count once and all selected pages get that many extra copies in a single operation.

Insert Pages into a PDF — Anywhere in the Document

A signed addendum needs to sit right after page 12. A missing page has to be dropped in before the appendix. Inserting pages is about position — and this tool lets you place content precisely where it belongs instead of merging two files and untangling the result.

Choose the pages to insert, choose the page they should follow or precede, and the document rebuilds itself in the right order.

How to insert pages into a PDF

  1. Load the PDF that should receive new pages.
  2. Add the source PDF (or insert a blank page instead).
  3. Pick the insertion point — after this page, before that one.
  4. Insert and download the rebuilt document.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Precise placement

Unlike a straight merge, insertion respects exactly where the new content goes — essential for contracts, reports and legal exhibits.

Blank pages when you need them

Insert empty pages as separators or notes pages without digging through a word processor to create a dummy document.

Multiple insertions, one pass

Add pages at several positions in a single session instead of repeating the merge-and-reorder dance.

Nothing leaves your machine

Draft agreements and internal reports stay on your device from first click to download.

Frequently asked questions

Can I insert pages from a different PDF?
Yes — that's the main use. Add the source document, choose which of its pages to insert, and they're pulled into the target file at your chosen position.
Can I insert a blank page?
Yes. Blank-page insertion is built in — handy for double-sided printing, note space, or keeping chapter starts on a right-hand page.
Does insertion renumber the rest of the document?
The pages after the insertion point shift one position later, exactly as you'd expect. Printed numbers in the artwork stay as they were.
Is there a limit to how many pages I can insert?
No fixed limit — your device's memory is the only practical ceiling. Inserting a few dozen pages is effectively instant.

Replace Pages in a PDF — Swap Outdated Content

The price changed on page 3. The chart on page 11 is out of date. Instead of rebuilding a 40-page report, replace just those pages — the cover, layout and every other page stay exactly as they were.

  2. Select the pages to swap out.
  3. Add the replacement PDF and choose which of its pages to substitute in.
  4. Replace and download the updated document.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Everything else stays identical

Only the targeted pages change. Formatting, metadata and the untouched pages are preserved — no rebuilding document structure by hand.

Version control for PDFs

When a single page changes between revisions, replacing it is the cleanest way to update a document without creating a new file from scratch.

Fewer mistakes than delete-then-insert

Doing it as two separate operations invites misplacement. Replacement keeps source and target paired in one step.

Private by design

Financial reports and legal drafts are precisely the documents people update repeatedly — and precisely the ones that shouldn't be uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I replace multiple pages at once?
Yes. Select every page that needs updating and provide the matching replacements — they're mapped in order.
Do the replacement pages need the same size?
No. A differently sized page keeps its own dimensions; if you want it to match exactly, resize or crop it beforehand with Crop PDF.
What happens to page count if I swap two pages for three?
The document takes the count of what you supply — replacements are treated as real pages, so the total adjusts accordingly.
Can I undo a replacement?
Redo is simple: reload the original file and replace again. Keep the original untouched as your master copy.

Reverse PDF Page Order — Last Page First

Some scanners and document cameras save pages in reverse order — page 20 first, page 1 last. Reversing the whole document is the fastest way to fix it, and it takes one click instead of eighteen drag operations.

The last page becomes the first, the first becomes the last, and every page in between flips accordingly — content, quality and orientation untouched.

How to reverse PDF page order

  1. Load the PDF with the reversed page order.
  2. Preview the current order in the thumbnail grid.
  3. Press Reverse to flip the entire sequence.
  4. Download the corrected document.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

One click fixes a whole scan

Dragging twenty pages around by hand is busywork. Reversing is deterministic and instant.

Right for bound documents

Certain binders and photo albums are read back to front — reversing makes a digital copy match how the physical original is used.

Content identical, order corrected

Pages are moved, never rewritten. Text remains selectable and images keep full resolution.

Free and unlimited

Reverse one file or fifty. No account, no cap, no watermark on the output.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reverse only part of a document?
Reverse flips the entire file, which is what scanner mistakes need. For partial reordering, use Organize PDF and drag the specific pages.
Will page numbers inside the pages change?
No — any numbers printed on the pages are part of the artwork and move with their page. Use Add Page Numbers if you want a fresh sequence.
Does it work on a scanned PDF?
Yes, and that's the most common use. Scanned pages are images inside the PDF, so they reverse perfectly with no quality loss.
Can I reverse it back?
Absolutely — reversing a reversed document returns it to the original order. The operation is fully symmetric.

  3. Adjust size, opacity, rotation and position, and watch the live preview.
  4. Apply to all pages (or a selection) and download.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Tuned so content stays readable

Opacity control is the whole game with watermarks. Dial it down until the mark reads as a signature rather than a stain.

Text or your own logo

Type CONFIDENTIAL, or stamp a transparent PNG of your logo across every page for brand-consistent document sharing.

Live preview before you commit

You see the watermark on an actual page while adjusting, so there's no guess-download-repeat loop.

Client documents stay private

Draft agreements and designs are sensitive precisely because they're watermarked. Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Will the watermark block the text underneath?
Choose a low opacity — around 10-20% for a diagonal stamp — and the text below remains perfectly readable while the mark is still unmistakable.
Can I use my company logo?
Yes. Upload a PNG (a transparent background looks best) and it will be placed as the watermark. Its original resolution is preserved.
Can I watermark only some pages?
Yes, apply to a selection when only certain pages are drafts, or to every page for a uniform document.
Can the watermark be removed later?
A watermark applied to the page becomes part of it — which is the point. Keep a clean master copy of the file if you'll need an unmarked version.

Add Page Numbers to a PDF — Position, Format, Start

Page numbers are small but they matter: a 60-page tender without them is a support ticket waiting to happen. PdfPixel stamps numbers exactly where you want them — bottom centre, top right, or set among a header line — in the style you choose.

Choose the position, the format (1, 1/20, Page 1 of 20), the font size and which page to start from — that last one matters when the cover page shouldn't be numbered.

How to add page numbers to a PDF

  1. Load the PDF that needs numbering.
  2. Pick the position — top or bottom, left, centre or right.
  3. Choose a format and set the starting number and font size.
  4. Apply and download the numbered document.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Skip the cover

Start numbering from page 2, or from any page — so covers, title sheets and blank inserts don't throw the count off.

Formats that match real documents

Bare numbers, "1 of 20", "Page 1 / 20" — whatever your house style is, pick it and apply.

A consistent, professional look

Numbers appear on every chosen page in the same place with the same size, so the document reads like it was designed, not patched.

Works offline, stays private

Numbering is written locally. Drafts and internal documents never leave your device.

Frequently asked questions

Can I start numbering from a specific number?
Yes — set any starting value. This is useful when a PDF is chapter two of a larger document and should begin at 41, not 1.
Can I skip the first page?
Yes. Start numbering from page 2 (or later) to leave the cover unnumbered while keeping the sequence correct.
Will the numbers cover existing content?
Numbers are placed in the page margin, where the standard header or footer area is. If a page has content right at the edge, choose a different position or reduce the font size.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Yes. The numbers are added as new text on top of each page image, so scans get clean, searchable-looking numbering.

Rotate PDF Pages — Fix Sideways Scans Permanently

One page scanned the wrong way round is the most common annoyance in any PDF. Your viewer might let you spin the view, but the file itself stays wrong — so it looks crooked again for whoever opens it next.

This tool writes the rotation into the document. Rotate a single page, a selection, or the whole file, and the change sticks everywhere.

How to rotate PDF pages

  1. Load the PDF with the sideways or upside-down page.
  2. Click a page thumbnail and rotate it left or right, or rotate all pages together.
  3. Repeat until every page sits the right way up.
  4. Save and download the corrected document.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Permanent, not just preview

The rotation is stored in the file. Colleagues, printers and viewers all see the corrected orientation — no per-visitor spinning.

Per-page control

Mixed documents are normal: portrait text with a landscape chart. Rotate only the pages that need it and leave the rest alone.

Any angle covered in two clicks

Left or right rotation handles every sideways case, and two clicks of 90° fix a page that's fully upside down.

No upload

Rotation happens locally. Nothing about your document — not even its name — leaves the browser.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rotate just one page?
Yes, and that's the usual case. Select the page and rotate it; the rest of the document is untouched.
Does rotating reduce quality?
Not at all. Rotation is metadata plus geometry — pages aren't re-rendered, so text stays sharp and images keep full resolution.
Can I fix a page that's upside down?
Yes. Rotate it twice in the same direction — two 90° turns make 180°.
Will it work for photos scanned as PDFs?
Yes — scanned pages are images, and they rotate perfectly with no re-encoding.

Crop PDF Pages — Trim Margins and Dead Space

Scans often come with a black frame, a huge white margin, or a strip of the scanner bed. Cropping fixes all three — and it also makes documents easier to read on phones, where every wasted millimetre shrinks the text.

Set the crop area on one page and apply it to all, or tune each page individually when a scan is slightly askew.

How to crop PDF pages

  1. Load the PDF you want to crop.
  2. Drag the crop handles to the area that should remain.
  3. Apply the same crop to all pages, or adjust page by page.
  4. Crop and download the tighter document.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Better on every screen

Removing margins makes text bigger on phones and tablets without changing a single font — the pages simply use their space.

Scans look clean again

Strip the black border a scanner added, or cut the shadow at the edge of a photographed page.

Uniform page sizes

A document made of mixed scans becomes visually consistent when every page carries the same crop.

Non-destructive workflow

Try a crop, download, and redo if it isn't right — your original file never changes on your device.

Frequently asked questions

Does cropping delete the hidden content?
Cropping sets the visible page area. Content outside it is removed from display; keep a master copy if you might need the full page later.
Can I crop only some pages?
Yes — apply to all pages, or select the ones that need it. Mixed-orientation scans are handled one page at a time.
Can I use crop to make a PDF A4?
Effectively yes. Crop away the extra margin so the remaining area is A4-shaped — a quick fix for documents that must match a paper size.
Will cropping blur the page?
No. Cropping changes the visible area only; the underlying page content and resolution are untouched.

Images to PDF — Combine JPG, PNG & WebP into One File

Receipts photographed on a phone. Screenshots that need to travel as one document. ID photos for an application portal that only accepts PDF. Converting images to a PDF is the standard fix — and doing it well means getting page size and order right.

Drop in PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or BMP files, arrange them in order, and export a document that looks deliberate rather than thrown together.

How to convert images to PDF

  1. Add your images — drag in as many as you like.
  2. Drag the thumbnails into the order you want.
  3. Choose page size and orientation, or fit each page to the image.

Frequently asked questions

How many images can I convert at once?
Dozens, easily. The limit is your device's memory — for very large photo sets, convert in batches to keep the preview snappy.
Will the images lose quality?
Images are embedded at their original resolution. A 12-megapixel photo stays 12 megapixels inside the PDF.
Can I mix portrait and landscape photos?
Yes. Choose fit-to-image for automatic orientation, or pick a fixed page size and let the tool rotate each image to fill the page neatly.

Add a Background to PDF Pages — Colour, Gradient or Image

Presentations exported to PDF, worksheets, certificates and handouts all look better with a background that isn't stark white. A soft tint makes a document feel designed; a subtle image makes a certificate feel official.

Choose a solid colour, blend two colours into a gradient, or place an image behind the text — then control opacity so the content stays perfectly legible.

How to add a background to a PDF

  1. Load the PDF that needs a background.
  2. Pick a solid colour, build a gradient, or upload your own image.
  3. Fine-tune opacity and apply it to all pages or specific ones.
  4. Save and download the restyled document.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Three styles, one tool

Flat colour for readability, gradients for headers and covers, images for certificates and branded packs.

Opacity keeps text readable

Backgrounds sit behind the content with adjustable strength, so a bold image never swallows the words on top of it.

Consistent across the document

One background applied to every page turns a folder of plain exports into something that looks intentionally designed.

Private, local processing

Certificates and internal documents are often the ones that need branding — they stay on your machine.

Frequently asked questions

Will the background cover my text?
No. It's drawn behind the existing page content, and you control its opacity, so text always stays on top and readable.
What image formats can I use?
PNG and JPG both work. A pale, low-detail image at low opacity looks best behind text.
Can I apply different backgrounds to different pages?
Apply one background to all pages for consistency, or run the tool per page group when a cover needs a different treatment.
Does a background increase the file size?
A solid colour or gradient adds almost nothing. An image background adds roughly the size of that image — compress afterwards if needed.

Repair a Corrupted PDF — Recover What's Readable

A PDF that is damaged usually fails the same way: your viewer says the file is corrupt, or it opens and then stalls halfway. Often most of the pages are perfectly fine — the file's internal index is what broke.

The repair tool reads the document structure page by page, skipping the broken parts, and rebuilds a fresh PDF from everything it can recover.

How to repair a damaged PDF

  1. Add the damaged PDF.
  2. Let the tool parse the file and report what it can recover.
  3. Review the recovered pages in the preview.
  4. Download the rebuilt, readable document.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Salvages partial files

A download that stopped at 80% often still contains readable pages. Repair extracts them instead of discarding the whole file.

Rebuilds instead of patching

The output is a newly written PDF with a clean internal structure — not the old broken index with a bandage on it.

Tell-tale recovery report

You see how many pages were recovered and how many were lost, so you know exactly what you got back.

Private recovery

Damaged files are often irreplaceable documents. Recovery happens entirely on your device — nothing is uploaded, nothing is retained.

Frequently asked questions

Which types of damage can be repaired?
Truncated downloads, interrupted transfers, malformed cross-reference tables and PDFs written by buggy exporters. If pages exist in the file, there's a good chance they can be rebuilt.
Can it fix a password-protected file?
If the password is known and the file opens with it, repair works normally. If the file is unreadable before decryption, unlock it first.
What if nothing can be recovered?
That usually means the page data itself is gone, not just the index. Try re-downloading the original — a partial file is only recoverable up to the point it was cut off.
Does repair change the content of my pages?
No. Recovered pages keep their original content and resolution. Only the container structure is rewritten.

PDF Metadata Editor — See and Clean Hidden Document Data

Every PDF carries hidden fields: who created it, what software produced it, sometimes a document title, keywords or an original file path. If you're sending a document out, that's information you may not want to share.

The metadata editor shows exactly what's stored in the file and lets you rewrite it or erase the sensitive parts — a small step that quietly protects you.

How to edit PDF metadata

  1. Open the PDF you want to inspect.
  2. Read the metadata panel: title, author, subject, keywords, producer, dates.
  3. Edit any field, or clear the ones you don't want to share.
  4. Save and download a document with clean metadata.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

See what you're sharing

Most people have never looked at a PDF's metadata. It often reveals the author's name, employer and software — all attached to a file you thought was anonymous.

Fix wrong titles

A document that shows a nonsense internal name in the browser tab or reader sidebar gets a proper title in seconds.

Wipe before you publish

Clear author and producer fields before publishing templates, job applications or public reports.

Local and private

Editing metadata about sensitive documents shouldn't require uploading them. Nothing here leaves your device.

Frequently asked questions

What metadata does a PDF contain?
Typically the title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer (the software that made it), plus creation and modification dates. Some PDFs also store XMP data with extra detail.
Does removing metadata change the document?
Not visually. The pages, text and images are untouched — only the hidden descriptive fields change.
Can I set a custom title for the browser tab?
Yes. Set the title field and PDF viewers and browser tabs will show that name instead of a filename.
Is my document uploaded for this?
Never. The metadata is read and rewritten in your browser using the file you selected locally.

PDF Stats & Analyzer — Inspect Any PDF in Depth

Before you send, print or archive a PDF, it helps to know what's actually inside it. Which fonts are embedded? How many pages are landscape? Where is the file's weight concentrated — and which pages are making it heavy?

The analyzer reads the document and reports the structure in plain terms: page dimensions, orientation mix, font inventory, image statistics and a per-page size breakdown.

How to analyse a PDF

  1. Load the PDF you want to inspect.
  2. Read the summary: page count, dimensions, orientation, total size.
  3. Drill into the font list and image statistics.
  4. Use the per-page weight view to spot which pages bloat the file.

Why use PdfPixel for this?

Find the heavy pages

If a 40-page file weighs 30 MB, the per-page breakdown usually shows three photo-heavy pages responsible. Compress those, not everything.

Font sanity check

See which fonts are used and whether they're embedded — the usual reason a PDF looks different on someone else's machine.

Print-shop ready

Page size and orientation stats catch the one landscape page that will ruin a print run before you send the file.

Fully offline inspection

Analysis happens in your browser. Proprietary documents can be examined without being handed to a third-party server.

Frequently asked questions

Does the analyzer modify my file?
No. It only reads and reports — your PDF is never changed, and nothing is uploaded or stored.
What does 'embedded font' mean?
An embedded font travels inside the PDF, so it looks identical everywhere. Non-embedded fonts are substituted by the reader, which is why text sometimes reflows on another machine.
Can it tell me if a PDF is scanned or digital?
The image statistics usually make it obvious: a scan has one large image per page and little or no text content.
Can I analyse a password-protected PDF?
You'll need the password to open it first — the analyzer reads whatever your browser can decrypt.
